Cleveland Fall Family Photography | A Family of Three Boys

There is something especially meaningful about photographing a family you have known for years. I have been photographing these three boys since they were babies, and watching them grow into the young men they are becoming has been such a joy.

Now 16, 13, and 10, they have grown quite a bit since those early sessions, but some things haven’t changed. Mom is still the calm in the middle of the chaos, Dad is still their biggest role model, and these four boys still share that unmistakable bond that makes this family so much fun to photograph.

Life with three boys is never boring! I remember when they were little and would hang on Mom like a bunch of monkeys. Somehow, she always managed to smile, laugh, and roll with whatever was happening around her. That same easygoing spirit is still there today. Raising three boys is no small feat, but she makes it look effortless.

And Dad? He is a true boy Dad through and through. His boys absolutely adore him, and it’s easy to see why. His strong, confident personality shines through in each of his sons. Whether they’re standing together for a portrait or sharing a laugh, the connection between them is unmistakable. It’s a wonderful reminder that some of the most meaningful things we photograph are the relationships that unfold naturally in front of the camera.

For this year’s Cleveland fall family photography session, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. We photographed during peak fall color, when the meadow was filled with gorgeous shades of gold, orange, red, and deep autumn green. The colors were absolutely stunning and created the perfect backdrop for their family portraits.

Their outfit choices were spot on, too! The coordinated colors complemented the fall landscape beautifully without feeling too matchy. When clothing, location, and timing all come together like this, the result is a collection of portraits that feels timeless while still capturing the beauty of the season.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to see the same families year after year. I get to witness the changes that happen so quickly, from tiny babies to toddlers with endless energy, and eventually to teenagers with personalities all their own. Before long, these three boys will be grown and heading out into the world, which makes preserving these family connections all the more meaningful.

I am so grateful this family continues to trust me to document their story. These portraits capture more than a beautiful fall afternoon. They capture three brothers growing up together, a mom who handles the beautiful chaos with a smile, and a dad whose influence is evident in every one of his boys.

And I have a feeling that no matter how tall these boys get, Mom and Dad will always see those little boys who once fit perfectly in their arms.
