It was so special to see Porche again, this time with her baby in her arms. If you’ve been following along, you may remember her recent maternity session. Now, just a couple of weeks later, she returned to the studio with baby Khalia.

Khalia was 11 days old at the time of her session, which is always such a nice window for newborn photos. At this stage, babies are still very sleepy, which allows for a relaxed pace and those softly posed images so many families love.

For her solo portraits, I chose a light lavender color palette. It complemented Khalia’s skin tone beautifully and kept the overall look soft and simple. Throughout the session, we focused on a mix of gently posed images and more natural moments, allowing her personality to come through in a quiet way.

Dad joined for part of the session as well, so we were able to include a few family images. These are always meaningful to document, especially during those early days when everything still feels new.

As the session came to a close, it was easy to imagine what the next year will look like for this family. I’m already looking forward to seeing Khalia again for her sitter and one year sessions, and to continue documenting these milestones as she grows.
