Months before a baby is born, I have their newborn session on my schedule. I plan my weeks accordingly. Some baby’s are born early, some are late. Regardless, I only take so many newborns per week to make sure I have some wiggle room for my new babies and their newborn sessions. It takes some planning. Same is true for every session I accept.

Before shooting a cake smash session, I need to have a theme planned out. Weeks before the session takes place, I start planning with my client. The cake, decorations, backgrounds, outfits are all discussed ahead of time. It’s a bit of a process but another reason I love my job!

Hudson is one of my Baby’s First Year clients. Baby #2 for this sweet family. It seems like yesterday that we were taking Hudson’s older brother’s newborn pics! As you can see, Hudson has changed quite a bit in one little year! Of course I had to include a photo from his newborn session!

Our cake smash was nautical theme! The set included, anchors, netting, a little boat and of course the cake! Finally, we had to do a little bubble bath. I think that was Hudson’s favorite part!
