Not all “newborn” sessions happen within the first few weeks of life—and that’s okay. Santana and Mazikeen may have been a little older than the typical newborn photography window, but their session was every bit as special (and adorable)!

After spending their first month in the NICU, these resilient twins were finally ready for their very first photo session—at three months old. And what made it even more meaningful? Their session was a surprise gift from their dad to their mom. When he first reached out, he said, “We just want something to commemorate how incredibly lucky we are to have gotten here after so much and so long.” That alone melted my heart, and I knew we were going to create something truly memorable.

At every session, my goal is to make things as easy and stress-free as possible for parents. From providing wardrobe options for new moms to including all the wraps, props, and cozy little touches for the babies—it’s all taken care of so families can just enjoy the experience.

Even though Santana and Mazikeen were a little older, we still managed to capture some of those signature newborn-style poses, and they absolutely rocked it. They were sweet, calm, and took turns being awake and asleep like perfect little models. And just when we thought we were done, Mazikeen surprised us with the biggest, happiest smiles—pure magic.

By the end of the session, it felt like we’d all become fast friends, and I was honored to be a part of such a meaningful milestone for this incredible family.
